Best way to clean an K&N air filter?

It will cake up the map sensor a little and drop performance, as a general rule just a light coating no more and you'll be fine.

The K&N cleaner stuff is as good as anything really.

Personally I would/have used the K&N cleaner but my mate used to sink the filter into a bucket of diesel he had spare in the garage. Swore by it, and his car is running round 12 years on
