This is what I posted on another forum .. I'm still not looking at the numbers as they make my wallet hurt. If i kinda skim over them it doesn't feel so bad.

(Prices are without GB discounts, begging, stealing or 2nd hand parts)

[QUOTE]
My price breakdown was roughly the following (for an inline 4).

Depends entirely on the company.
With phoning about I'm confident that a new SC quote will be cheaper than last years non SC quote.

OOOuch ! ! !

So all in all not really a cheap 'bang for buck' option.

So with the labour charge if you didn't fit it yourself you'd be into

The only NA way of getting that kind of power is an M3 engine swap (and I'd still have a few more ponies )
Has anybody done that?

I'm tempted... but then I look at a picture of a 355 Targa and it convinces me to save (most of) my pennies

Not that I know of, but if the Supra inline 6 fits (with all the chunky turbo manifolds) I'd have thought the M3 should.

Not many spare M3 lumps laying about in scrappies though.

355's are lost on me, I've seen too many bad MR2 kits in my time and it's tainted them. And they have a worse power/weight ratio that a charged s2000 (and no, I'm not claiming to have the better car before someone starts having a go).
