Which intake thread nuber 1453935798

Try the search then you can decide for yourself, and then ask any specific questions.

The long and short is that you won't make more than a few bhp from any intake alone, at most.

Best bang for buck is taking the airbox lid off. It will affect the response a bit, but it's the cheapest.

But as said, this gets raised a LOT so try searching

I'd take that was a massive pinch of salt.

You'll be lucky if you get a couple of hp increase with any of these intakes, in fact some of them may even lose you a few.

The only thing I noticed after fitting mine apart from the noise was a slight increase in throttle response.

I have the AEM V2.
I completely agreed too but they provide a fancy (photocopied) print out with the alleged BHP increase. I did noticed a clear increase in throttle response between 2-6000rpm however.

Can I play devils advocate and ask if it was clearer throttle response, of just that you can hear it better?

What I meant was a much better throttle response than with the airbox lid off (sorry been driving around for so long with it off). I've found with the K&N it gets a better response in the low rev range (than lid off) and it seems on par with the standard (original) set up... but with alot more grunt. PLUS it also cuts down the drone considerably.

Mark, perhaps a link from the FAQ? or a sticky on the exhaust and intake topic? Or even better one at the start of spring that says "which exhaust/intake?" then disappears after a while until about Sept when it metamorphoses into the, "it started raining and I've pranged my car" thread?
