I bet they are laughing all the way to the bank with that idea!

If you want a general idea of how much Carbon you are responsible for theres a good calculator here:

The number of flights you take seems to be the biggest factor.

It told me I need 2 trees .....

When I get home tonight I will cut down the other 19 (or so) in my garden.

Erm... I don't think existing trees count! You need to plant new trees to tie up the carbon that your car is releasing into the atmosphere...
