Default Beginnings of a failing MAP sensor?

I have been running a synapse missing link with my comptech SC setup for over 3 months with no problems until today. A synapse missing link basically blocks boost mechanically - but that's not important, and it is clean and working correctly.

The car was fine until about 20minutes into the journey when it badly hesitated and kangaroo'd during partial throttle, the first time i cleared the CEL light and same thing happened again after another 15minutes. I reset the CEL light again but before i did this i gave the MAP sensor a whack and looked at all the connections - all appeared fine. After resetting the CEL for the second time the car did hesitate a little but no where near as much as before.

The code was p0170 which is Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit Low Voltage - likely the code is engages if the ECU see's a low voltage for a set period of seconds. One thing to note is the sensor is only around 4 years old as i purchased a new one ages ago.

I can monitor the pressure in Kpa upon cruising it should be around 35-40 a 3k rpm's which it was, it also changed when in WOT which is correct so its converting the voltage.

Any ideas?

Just had a thought esp with it raining heavy here today, i cleaned a tiny filter on the missing link (I'm sure i made sure it was dry but could be wrong) thus its possible moisture is lurking in the unit itself and the MAP sensor itself.

Moisture would evaporate pretty quick in the MAP, it gets red hot in there.

It's probably fooked!

You mean the sensor?

Maybe it is yeah, thought it would have lasted more than 4 year approx 40k.

I got mine from HTG last time, so god knows how much they cost now .

P.s Both units are in the airing cupboard now

Are you monitoring your AFRs when it hesitates?

I have a spare standard MAP sensor, could maybe bring it over for you to compare sometime next week. (bike weather permitting)

Pretty sure the map sensor is working correctly, in WOT its around ~100kpa, idle around 35kpa and cruising at constant revs the same, with car ignition on but car not running 5kpa - thus the map sensor seems to be fine.

The plot thickens.
