Default Beginners Q re: Locking wheel nuts

Aware of the above as a difference between imported and UK cars, but not aware of the practical significance of this.

'Locking' as in people can't pinch your wheels, or something else?

Might be a daft question but if you don't ask you never know!

It makes it marginally harder for people to nick your wheels, and a pain in the arse when you lose the key. When you do lose the key, you'll see how easily the local garage get them off and wonder why you ever bothered.

You can even buy the 'locking wheel nut remover' tool at Halfords now, so they're an opportunist theft prevention device at best.
