AAAGGGGHHH, get in, put your seat belt on, shut the door, start the car, put the lights on.......AND DRIVE!, when you have finished, all of the above in reverse order.
Do we have a problem?

I was a little ashamed to have to call the AA for a jump start!

The connector you disconnect, what does it do other than stop the beep? i.e. does it have any other purpose?

Get in the car, shut the door, put seatbelt on, then put keys in the ignition.

No beeps.

gotta keep the lights one, as the electronic dash can trick you if you've purposely made it brighter... (think it's more the fact my headlight bulb is gone so don't see any warning that it's on)

That's the optimists approach. As a pessimist, I always start the engine first, not being sure whether it will start. If it doesn't, then I've got to take the seat belt off again......

Door open buzzer - ? remove door jam plunger and crimp wires together. Trouble is I tried this and couldn't extract the plunger thingy.

Seat belt connector - was told this would also disable air bags in the event of a collision, or confuse the ECU.
