Default Been nearly a year and still learning

It's strange, the longer after the course, the more I seem to learn from it which IMO goes to show what a good coach Don Palmer is.

I am much more confirdent with the car and able to feel things I never used through the wheel to anticipate what is going to happen with the rear end.

Does anyone else who has been on a driving course feel this way that you are still learning from it some time later?

I was thinking the same only last week. I'm constantly trying to read more from the car using Don's techniques and also adopting the "less is more" technique advocated by both Don and also Andy (1st Lotus).

Don is a driving god. His website is www.donpalmer.co.uk

His course is called Creative Car Control. He's not bargain basement(

Don is very good (errr, "driving god" i reserve for world rally champions and the like ) but I would also recommend Andy at 1st lotus - he also teaches the physics of tyre grip etc. His approahc is more of a teaching process than the self-help approach of Don - its simply a question as to which approach you prefer. For a comparative write up of the two courses read my explanation of the course differences

PS Andy is an ex-F1 test driver so he is pretty close to deity status

I did an on-road performance course at Knockhill, which gave me a lot of confidence in the car. The road's not the place to learn a great deal about the back end as there's no "trial and error" option , but I have learn't a good bit from driving on snow.

I reckon someone new to performance cars (esp RWD) would always benefit from one of these courses - as has been said many times before, a good course is the best value performance mod you can buy.

sounds good

I think I'd go for this option purely on cost

Anyone fancy joining me? October??
