I know it's taking a bit off topic (in terms of car engines), but someone mentioned a Merlin... I remember hearing one two years ago at Kelmarsh Hall - possibly THE best engine sound of all time!!

Not sure if I'd want to be stuck behind it in traffic for too long though. Ears would start to bleed, but i'd still have a doe-eyed face for at least the rest of the week!

I swear to god if my car sounded like that Corvette id rip any and all stereo equipment out of it in a flash! It would be nothing more than dead weight lol. Gorgeous! But the C6 is a foul car

Scoobys are a bit like Susan Boyle- pretty ugly to look at but lovely to hear. I do love their throaty, distinctive purr.

standard e46 M3 sounds great IMO, http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8...88900449704148# need to have big displacement to make nice base noises at idle though, off beat v8 are usually best
