Default Badly pitted windscreen and bumper

My windscreen is VERY pitted. when the sun shines on it, there is at least one tiny pit per square cm if not more. And same again on the front bumper. Waxing the front bumper highlighted it there.

Wonder if anyone else has seen this? And has any idea what has caused this?

I've done 27k miles.

Mine used to be like this, can only assume it's stone chips?

It just seems completely excessive for that. I don't remember that many stones ever hitting the car.

My old w/s had more chips than the front bumper has - but not to the extent you describe.
Problem solved for

All sorts of roads. I'm resigned to a respray but the bumper has only done <10k.

Maybe bits of grit kicked up, especially on track?

Big yellow Shitter Lorries in winter on A-Roads.

If you've got a closing speed of 100 mph, it makes a hell of a racket.

One tries to slow down, but that's not always a safe option.

I did have to pass a couple of gritters this winter, but like I say. When you see, and I'll try and post pics, it really does look like someones sprayed a fine mist of acid or something that's ate the paint. Kind of makes me want to fix it and sell it. Either that or drive it into the ground.

The NSF bumper of mine's very pitted too. That's water colours for you.

I'd suggest some glass polish/paint cleaner & a Random orbital should improve yours a bit.
