140 squid.. bargain. plus 12 quid for a missing centre cap, the others polished up with headlight restorer, and 20 quid for new, black, wheel nuts

Like the bronze - do you mind me asking what Specs are the wheels and what size tyres are you running.

right.. the Nitrons are the next project

having only ever fitted lowering springs before i dont have experience of tinkering with this stuff

the front nitron has a shock length adjuster, its screwed in but has the bracket for the brake line blocking the last bit of adjustment - this is just from when i cleaned these up as i bought used off here

then you can adjust the spring perch to also change height

my initial tweaking was to get it the same length as the BCs i was removing

however i read here

Coilovers & What You've Gotten Wrong

that it's perhaps a bad idea. I've nudged Nitron but no response yet. i DO have time on my side though

the Nitron manual is here but fairly sparse

https://www.nitron.co.uk/files/nitro...ive_manual.pdf

basically i have a few options - lower using that length adjuster, lower by having minimal pre load (as the spring is longer in the above pic) or a combo..

or i could swap to the brutal springs from the BCs but i think i'll get more road grip with a softer spring

also watched a vid here

https://boostedmedia.net/automotive/...ght-right-way/

which is really good and shows how to set the shock length for correct bump travel - effectively making sure you dont hit your wheels on the car body under load

will try that and see where i get..

still waiting on a few things from Nitron before i decide whether to continue the fit or go back to BC

so in the meantime i swallowed a brave pill and cut holes in my bumper

now need some.glue - these are for brake vents which i will bond to the rear

and some rust treatment for a few bits i spotted on headlight supports etc

i have one side fitted

not set up, that is way too low for roads round here but i thought start low and work up

both ends easy enough if you can get drop link off rear (mine had aftermarket with hex on the balljoint making it easy, the honda ones have a little allen socket in the end of the rod and i have never got one of those off intact

now to torque it all, set a bit of height and turn it round (cant get to the other side due to bikes

Heh.. as much as i like the slammed look, all my Gran Turismo cars looked like that in the day, it used to hit my garage door seal 15mm higher than that!

so i raised it a bit, ready to turn it round and do the p side

not sure my fat ass lowers it much but you have given me a lockdown idea

still waiting for that ****ing glue

in the meantime i attacked the rear passenger side. It's a bit of a ballache as you have to remove the fuel filler and i dropped both top mount nuts into the crevice of the body around the shock head, you need pincer fingers with 48 joints to retrieve them, my ham fists caused much bad language

anyway, another side, another minor issue

the hid leveller thingy is bust so ordered a new one off fleabay

arch solid but some minor rust so will tidy that

just put a bit of dinitrol on it for now as i think i'll get it done professionally when lockdown is over before the winter (lets hope eh?)

so.. not quite done, waiting on more bits
