Good lad!
To stay with the Honda is the best option from the marques you have mentioned.
Most "quality" German car dealer sales people are all wind and pi$$ at the end of the day, simply reflecting over-rated and over-priced cars I'm afraid.

koooeell.......at the end of the day I think to really 'get' the Boxster it will be the 'Porsche' factor that will clinch it for someone.....that intangible emotional factor that's either there or isn't that makes the difference between purchasing or not
welcome back!

Hey all
Thanks for the warm welcome. A couple of guys on boxa.net could not understand my logic but most of them are also a friendly bunch. Helpful to say the least. Shame that the Boxster just didn't do anything for me.
Zero you are quite right about the "Porsche" factor. If I was determined to buy a Porsche and no other it would have been a done deal but what I was seeking was the thrill factor and for me it was a bit lacking in that car.
This is exactly how I felt 14 months ago when I put an order in for a Boxster. At that stage I had tried everything but an S2000 and what a mistake that almost was. As soon as I came back from the test drive I had a grin which didn't leave me for two days every time I thought about the car! I am not kidding you, it was unbelievable fun. Also the Honda Dealer was great, dropping off the car to me twice for one week each time with petrol and insurance. Ask that of the Porsche dealer and he will split himself open laughing.
Also the Porsche dealers seem to suggest they won't offer any discount and even today I am getting telephone calls from the dealers to see what deal they can offer to clinch the deal, four dealers have called today trying to get a deal. I will post their details on boxa for any future buyers who think they can't get a deal. In the end some people might consider that I didn't buy the car because the discount wasn't enough. Hell I wouldn't loose a car I wanted over a saving of

You might want to have a read of the box.net replies, some of which are a bit funny. Maybe you have to register, don't know.

Have you driven the S2K? I am comparing cars after driving both of them and yet I still don't claim one car is better than the other. You seem to be inclined to say the opposite.
Your car is a good car but the S2K is a great car too IMHO. So we both like the choices we made, why argue to see whose is better. We can accept our decisions and be happy with them, I am not trying to prove to you that my choice is better than yours so why do you wish to do exactly that to me?

So have you actually driven the S2K to make that comparison or is it purely an opinion you have?
