Avon ZZ3 1000 mile running report
well after some initial misgivings......mostly due to my initial experience being on track which is hardly fair with regard to a road tyre......I have appraised them under the conditions they have been designed for........road use
I've played around with pressures trying all 4 at the same......and differing pressures back to front.......
I've finally settled on 34.5 at the front and 35 at the rear
I'm actually quite pleased with the Avons now..........yes initially I felt that they'd robbed me of the need for some car control on the exit from a corner..........but having said that the car really flatters your ability.....

I am sooooo close to ordering...........like I say I've got used to the ZZ3's......they appear to respond better to a smooth driving style..........with the S02's I liked to unsettle the car on entry...turn in with zero understeer and allow the rear 'to dance'....and then moderate your line throught the corner using the throttle
with the ZZ3....if you can use the same technique it feels messy............with the Avons it seems that you enter the corner with some slight understeer......lift off to tighten your line......then a transition to oversteer.....and ride the wave by 'playing' with the throttle
