Default Aux belt tensioner help

I think I have just had a Eureka moment with my car, ever since i've had it it has always had a slight "tick", valve clearances were checked and ok but whilst reading the US forums I found someone over there who had the same problem as me and it was his Aux belt tensioner. Having removed mine this evening there is a lot of lateral play (wobble)in mine

What I would like to know is does anyone have their S2000 in a state of dismantlement! that can check their pulley bearing for play as I don't want to replace it if they are all like that, thanks in advance.

Cheers.....Tony..

I took my belt off last night just to check mine out and give some feedback. When spun, it made the smooth sound that I expect bearings to make when they still have some life in them, there was no movement side to side (in line with its direction of loading) but there was a slight amount of "yaw" type movement if I pushed one side back and the other forwards.

I put that in the "spend your time thinking about replacing something else" pile

I have my 'new' one sat with me and as above, there is perhaps 1mm of lateral play but that's it. Bearings are smooth and quiet.

Ok then, parts arrived this morning, so rushed home for an early lunch to get it fitted and go for a quick test drive, As far as I can tell the noise has gone, there are a couple if vid's below although I have no before video.
