Cedric, One last question. Does adding this intake change the engine sound, such as with the Injens or AEM? Thanks, JimmyB

Jimmy.

You'll have to ask Aus 2000. I'm still waiting for mine. Its not as radical a change from stock as the Injen or AEM. I would expect though that you may hear a slight intake hiss on tickover and I would expect a different sound in the VTEC zone possibly a little more raspy.... I hope. I'm guessing!

For some reason I didn't get the emails notifying me of additional posts to this thread.

The first batch is in and will ship next week.

I'm doing an install on Sunday for Suit36 and will document it.

With regards to sound there is a throatier sound from the intake that is most apparent at WOT. Subtle but nice (my GF says that's the complete opposite of me ).

Well mine just arrived, which is pretty good since Wayne shipped it from Aus on Wednesday!!! He's very thoughtfully marked it as a gift, so I may avoid the dreaded import duty.

First Impressions:-

Very sturdily and solidly made, not at all 'flexy' as you might expect with it's fibre glass construction. Mine is finished in red and the quality of the finish is excellent, with some sort of shiny sealant finish. There are no fitting instructions with it, I don't know if this is an oversight, but there doesn't appear much to say anyway.... one end slots into the airbox, being a push fit, and the other end has a clip bonded at the lower mouth of the intake which will locate nicely onto a cross piece of the stock plastic 'grill'.

I'm really pleased with appearance of it, it looks the mutz nutz!

I hope to get it fitted after tea, and if all goes well I'll post some pics.

Cedric,
Got mine today. Looks good, but I am trying to figure out what those 2 small felt pieces are for. Have you figured that part out. I also agree that the quality appears to be very good. Mine came in with one small chip in it, but I think I can touch it up.

Thanks,
Jim

LOL

Jimmy, I was just about to say "I don't got no felt pieces" but having read your post, I've thoroughly desecrated the packaging and found them.... together with a template!!.

The template seems to show that the 2 adhesive pads are fastened to the underside of the bonnet and will prevent the closed bonnet from marking the top of the CAI.

If that's wrong I'm sure Wayne will chime in.

Cedric,
Now that I look at the template I understand.
Thanks,
Jimmy
