Either way, I think I have to reduce the height of the intake at that point. There seems to be quite some difference in the space between the bonnet and crossmember on various S's and I have to manufacture for the lowest common denominator.

Hi Aus.
As I said, I'm not really that bothered about the colour match, and I am impressed with the fit, the instructions & ease of installation, and the resulting improvement in performance.
I remember Cedric mentioned he put draught excluder around the hole where the AIE fits in the air box. There is a small gap, I may try this myself. Should it make much difference?
I had to raise the bonnet catch up quite a way and it's still slightly higher on the AIE side now but only noticeable if your looking.
I think a few mill reduction in height at that point would make a big difference.
As for the headrests... I wasn't too sure when I first saw them, but when they are installed, with the black embroidery on black, they really look .
Cheers.

There's also a little plasic plug sticking up through the cross-member about a 1/4 inch or so, right where the CAI sits. It seems to be just a cable clip pushed from underneath, and it definitely wasn't there on my 00 car. After satisfying ourselves that the clip wasn't really doing much, we cut it off flush with the bulkhead.

Fletch:
The draught excluder is just me being anal,... it just looks better. Any warm air that gets through that gap is insignificant when you look at the size of the CAI scoop!

Yup I had to push the cable clip through too - it hold the cable for the bonnet release - not really a biggy.
Cutting the air guide is simple - I just kind of guessed and it worked out okay! STill haven't had the chance to take photos.
One thing you guys should do more regularly is clean out the air box - I have noticed a lot more crap going into the air box. I vaccuum the air box when cleaning the interior!
