AUS AIE Invalidate Engine Warrantee? Surely Not!
My lovely partner has just delivered my S2000 to my local Honda dealership (where I brought it from) for it

That's boll%4ks. The onloy way they can invalidate the warranty is if they can prove that fault occurred as a direct result of a modification. I think PWE had his PRM and HKS installed by his dealer and there weren't any warranty issues.

What NFS said. You can do what the Hell you like to your car and it's none of their business whatsoever, until such time as they can show that an aftermarket mod has directly caused/contributed to a particular failure, and then it only affects the warranty for the parts damaged that are attributed to the mod... it doesn't invalidate the whole warranty.
My garage saw my Aus CAI and were fascinated with it saying they thought it looked the dogs doodies!!!
I'd point out to them that this CAI is particularly safe, as it retains the stock air box and filter complete with water trap!! It's likely to be the risk water ingestion which is their concern. That risk is negligable IMO with this CAI short of driving through a stream or hitting very deep standing water.
If they don't accept that, just tell 'em to get on with the job you're paying 'em for or you'll take it elsewhere!

I think the problem is that any modification CAN invalidate a warranty, and some dealers might use this as an excuse not to fix something under warranty. But differnt parts of the car have different warranties. But modifying the engine may well invalidate the engine warranty. It's probably worth getting Honda's take on CAI fitment to be sure.
Some dealers will accept that the modification is harmless and possibly beneficial, but they're under no obligation to - I bet if you look in the warranty small print there is a clause to the effect that any part of the car can have it's warranty voided by modification.
A guy on the Audi board was told that his brake warranty was voided by fitting aftermarket pads and that the dealer wouldn't undetake any investigation into his braking problems because of this. He went to a different dealer and they did the work without question.

Well, here's an update as promised. (I had to go to page two to find this.... busy forum today )
It turns out the service manager was being a numpty.
When Donna picked the car up he admitted that once he saw the AIE he realised he was being a numpty.
BTW... Thanks for that quote Kobe. I'll have to remember that one.
