Arch Rolling

Arch Rolling
So by adding my super light weight 18" Volks to my S I have recently discovered the tyres are having very intimate and expensive contact with the inside of the rear wheel arch. It is only occasional but on the more "rural" roads it is far too frequent and is damaging the tyres.
So going into modder mode I recalled a conversation about rolling arches to allow the tyres more space in the wheel arch.
That's were my knowledge on the subject ends!
So if you know whether it can be done, does it work or who does it (well) post away!
Oh just for good measure here is a pic of the problem wheels

It can be done on pretty much any car, and most bodyshops can do it.
I had it done on my Astra GTE when I ran into the exact same problem.
Another option (depending on how much contact there is) is to get some of your arch shaved away and sealed to prevent rust.

Or get wheels with the right offsets
But as Durzel said, most boy racer friendly bodyshops do it.

Been there done that!
Moved the problem from the front to the back!

The yanks call them fender benders or fender rollers I think , they roll the wheel arch outwards to avoid rubbing. Check the American sites I looked about a year ago and found them

Couldn't you just replace the wheels with some 17" wheels, the OEM ones would look nice on that car
I'm not giving in that easy
Just you wait - roll the arches and nitron up - sorted
Thanks Dreamer - they'll look even cooler when they go in the arches right
