Nah mate,

What you've got there is septic tank.

Over 'ere, we talk proper facking english, innit!

You'll find the septics also drive on the pavement and not the road and think the front wing is a fender, which we think is a guitar.

They cannot spell through (nor can half the morons leaving our politically-correct education system either, mind) nor aluminium.

And they make tea using sea water, which is disgusting.

HTH
Call it whatever you want the point remains valid...

Not too bad not as bad as i thought, looks like a 2 pass, but also has several sheets of metal around the backbox!

I didnt bloody weight them, hoping someone could tell what they weight?

Good man!

Several months ago before buying the Invidia I was trying to find an old 04+ system to butcher to make it louder, proper 'ricer' stylee.

I guessed it was recirced by the tube that re-enters at the rear.
Like Nick says, hard to better as a twin.

What I wanted to do was chop out all the guts and tack a perforated pipe inside.
Fill with glass and reweld - easy.
However, it would weaken everything so now I know it wont really be so easy

The magna's are straight through and 'should' be lightier, cant seem them adding any power really maybe gain a minute bit of torqure higher up.

I think the sound could be hit and miss you never know.

its not a good design for flow as it uses reflection to drop the db so its not smooth flowing.
Steve
if your handy with a welder you could do this

and if your realy clever you could install exhaust valve in the red pipe so you can bypass all the baffles or use as standard

Yes, that was an idea I popped into another thread - as per Porsche 'sport mode'.

Its esily do-able and my close pal runs a good metalwork shop.
Your idea for valve placement was different to mine and is far better.
It could work, but I never found a suitable size and CHEAP valve to do it.

I'd would just get a 2nd hand exhaust and have a bash, IIRC they only go for

how much is cheap?
$50
http://www.jegs.com/p/Mr.+Gasket/744831/10002/-1

$399 for fully electric

if you put it as i indicate you dont have to have a fantastic seal on the buterfly as any leaks still go out the tail pipe, so its not beyond the realms of a diy job to weld some steel bosses to the exhaust and fit bronze bushes to act as a spindle and seal, handbrake cable or vacuum piston of an old wastegate to operate them

Are there any performance gains to be had doing this?
What does it sound like?
Would it still pass the emissions test in the MOT?
