The fee for that last couple of coilover installs I did was was a breakfast at the local cafe.
All this talk of removing siezed bolts - piece of cake with a ramp and an angle grinder! I removed all the siezed bolts on my Civic witout a ramp and with a junior hacksaw blade!
As for expertise - not buying it.

Most of the bolts you can't get near with an angle grinder

His rates have gone up - to reflect the work he does and the expertise he provides.
If you don't need his expertise, get the basic stuff done locally/DIY, then take it to him to set it up!
He was/is never going to be cost effective for basic spannering
He does not want to offer what you get from your local dealer, nor is that what he is best at!

He is very good at what he does, and he is aware of the pricing issues as I addressed them directly to Chris only last week. The reality in my opinion lands on two points, firstly he built the reputation of the company based on this forum and the great work he has done, now prices have gone up 50% on advice he has taken. Secondly it may be noted that they take bookings 2 weeks in advance, so if they can get away with this increase and they have enough business then fair play. We are I fear heading into recession, and the first things people may cut are track days etc, this may or may not effect their bookings and is something they will need to keep an eye on from the business perspective
I would say although there seems to be alot of brown nosing going on in some circles on this forum, there is no doubt in my mind that the high reputation and service of this company is duely deserved, I just wished my clients would pay 40% more, even 20%!

Steven's right, Ron - a reciprocating saw is needed to get a the common culprit, the front lower wishbone bush with the cam bolt. I was using Chris's reciprocating saw in the front wheelarch whilst sparks were flying from the rear wheelarch as Chris used an angle grinder on one of the more accessible bushes. 100% OK now though

Is it just me that thinks Chris' revised rates are still reasonable?
This time last year - I got my new 07 S, copper slip greased, Cusco front and rear ARB supplied and installed, and a full geo for about
