I actually sell this at our (Jaguar) dealership and as with any insurance its good if you end up needing it. If you spending 20k plus its certainly worth it imo, tho unless you have a very long finance agreement and/or very low deposit i would go for the return to invoice GAP which will literally pay the difference between what your ins co pays out and what you originally paid for the vehicle (up to a set max payout-usually 10k). This should clear any finance and/or enable effectively 'new for old' to buy another lovely s2000!

It's insurance - check the small print before you buy. These people ALWAYS have huge teams of weasels to avoid paying out. Ask yourself this - how can they offer so much cover for so little money?

I think it depends.
Given that I was in the fortunate position whereby the market value should always have been way higher than any o/s finance I only had the choice of the RTI type (again thrown in as part of the deal), although both types of policy, were described as GAP insurance so it would be well worth checking what they're trying to sell you.

I have this and its taken me 5 weeks to get them to honour anything. they lost the claim forms, refused to acknowledge phone calls, refused to honour glasses retail guide, gave me bull about there being 2 versions of the glasses retail guide etc.
In theory its great, and it's actually saving me about 1200 quid in this instance, but be prepared to fight with them!!!
I will probably take it out again but I'll go into it with my eyes open this time!
If you want more info about it PM me and I can tell you!

Thanks for the link btw reckon i'll look at that rather than the Honda one !
In the event of a claim, be prepared to query their valuations etc., it can be done and it is better than puttin gmoney in the bank - even with the original 300 quid purchase price it's saving me about 1200 quid - better than interest
