I've got the chance to buy a set of S2000 wheels from someone who lives in Leamington Spa. Trouble is I'm not sure if they're trustworthy and wondered if anyone lived near there they might deliver my cheque for me and check he had and dispatched the goods.

I realise this is a lot to ask, but if anyone out there can help or has any good ideas I would appreciate a pm

Have you considered paying by PayPal, using your credit card? In the event that it all goes Pete Tong, you have some measure of fraud protection both from the credit card company (I think) and from PayPal itself.

 

Bugger, I was going to go for them but forgot.... Does s/he have good feedback on Ebay???

 

I live in Rugby which is about a 20 minute drive from Leamington would be willing to check them out for you..... but as you don't know me either that probably doesn't help your situation !!!!

 

I didn't win the auction and the person who did (and ramped up the price in the process) apparently wanted to "back out" the day after, though when I sent him an email, he denied making any bids at all and that his email address had been used by persons unkown. All sounds a bit smelly to me, but I figured if I can have them shipped over here at the price quoted (without the benfit of ebay and Paypal) they may still be worth it, but I do have this nagging doubt, hence my posting here. I'd rather trust a member of this forum I suppose.
