a gear at the crucial moment?

I was following a Boxster S very early this morning, he was up for it...........I was up for it.........game on

So I make sure I am in the VTEC zone....we both get the chance and boot it.......up a dual carriage-way on-slip.....

I got the jump on him while VTEC'ing in 1st, I think he was in 2nd cause I was all over him and he was being a bit ginger, didn't apply full throttle by the looks of it until his front wheels were straight.....

he pulls on the inside.....up to 2nd.....9000rpms my headlights are now level with the rear part of his door.....up to 3rd..... sh1t I've fluffed the gear change....a load of revs in neutral game over

How friggin embarassing is that? not to mention frustrating!!!

Off goes the Boxster....he just "blew away an S2000"

My usual mistakes are: hitting the rev limiter in first. Fluffing 2nd to 3rd up change.

this engines revs so quickly you're at the red line before you can blink

If it hadn't been for the fluffed gear change I'd have had him......such a missed opportunity that

What was nice is that the Boxster driver could see that I had the jump and made room, he didn't just block the lane..it would have been nice to see how things would have turned out

Damn! Why does it always happen with Boxsters? I had a run with a normal Boxster - spanked it hard in first and then instead of putting it into 2, what do I do? I put it right into 4th! I know how you feel!
