Default Anyone been playing with a 350Z on the A43?

One of my work colleagues had a little tussle with a black/grey ('twas dark, so he's not sure) S2000, roof up, on the A43 towards Northampton last night. Sounds like the end result was a burnt clutch on the S2000, with the driver letting the 350Z go. His impression was that the 350Z was faster at the higher speeds.

Anyone on here?

350Z and S2k are very closely matched - ask Mr RichUK.. - 350Z could just about win over the S when going up and down the gears as the 350z has plenty more torque. Straight 0-60 should see the S2K right though

From about 30mph exiting a roundabout on a dual I found it dead even to 120 km/h. Nowt in it and I was drafting

Hmm.. sound ominous for someone..

The 350z is not that quick for a 3.5l but then they are S money I guess, just a different approach to speed. I like the coupe but they are very heavy which will mean the extra torque is very much a requirement rather than an advantage. A good S driver will beat the same guy in a Z on anything but dead straight cos the much lighter S can brake later, corner harder etc.

At 181bhp/ton compared with the S's 190 there's feck all in it.

all in my opinion except the stats like..

I think only the most skilled drivers can detect the differences between the cars. The extra weight of the 350z is more than balanced by the sheer volume of torque delivered.

My research? Driving both for over 30k miles, and a four hour 100mph+ drive to le Mans with a group of well driven S2000's.

Were there well driven S2000s on the trip to Le Mans?
