Default Anyone advice on using Zymol?

My brother kindly bought me a Zymol kit for Xmas.

It includes car wash, polish and wax, as well as applicators, sponges and microfibre towels.

Can't wait to give the S the full treatment, but was wondering if I should wait for the weather to improve?

Did a search on the Wash and Wax board but our American friends seem much keener on Zaino and I couldn't find a definitive answer.

Any advice much appreciated!

Si

The manual should provide some insit on who to use it if not the zymol website does.

www.zymol.co.uk.

I personnely used to rinse with cold water.
( Clay bar if necessary.)
Wash with shampoo
Rinse with water
( HD cleanse is necessary )
Apply wax with hands ( but not if hot sun as burns like hell. )
Use towel to remove excess wax
Buff with micro towel.

If you are doing it today then you should be alright, if mem serves correctly it should be above 5 degress and not in direct hot sun light.

Have fun and you know when you have done a good job as one will be knacker and have sore arms.

No chemicals on my paintwork thanks.

I've found that if it's too cold the wax doesn't apply very well. After buffing it can end up getting a dew on it again.

Personally, I will be waiting for the worst of the winter to be over before giving my baby the full treatment.
Maybe end of Feb or March.
Then it'll be Wash, Lehm-Klay, rinse, dry, HD Cleanse, Wax, Wax. Probably 6 hours later, collapse in a heap in front of the TV with a beer.
Of course this whole thing really only needs doing once a year, should only need to top up the wax coat if you look after it right.

I agree with the above comments.

Personally, I would find it heavy going to be doing the full Zymol in January.
The colder it is, the harder the work etc.

Now Zaino on the other hand....all year round.

I waxed my car a few weeks back - you do get the odd day that's suitable this time of year. My personal tips for waxing with Zymol - apply the wax to a small area at a time, and start taking it off with a Zymol microfibre towel almost immediately. I use two microfibre towels - one for quickly getting the rough excess off, then the other for taking the final bit off. If it's hard work, you're doing to large an area, letting it dry, or the microfibre towel is clogged up. With practice you'll put less wax on in the first place (the less the better), and it's simple. I also go round the car one final time with the microfibre cloth.

Oh, best done just after you've eaten a big meal, so you're full. Then the smell won't temp you to eat it.

-Brian.

Thanks Simmo....for some reason I had thought that the HD Cleanse did all that stuff! Not sure why!!

So I need to get some Lehm Klay then, eh?
How much are we talking?
