Default Any reason why I can't use 05 calipers?

Car in for service and it's blindingly expensive ... but such is life!

One of the calipers is seized on my MY00 and I've picked up some from an MY05 - any reason why they wouldn't swap and is there any difference in them?

Turns out I need the timing chain etc replaced too, so this is totting up to be about

From what i can see on a parts list the calipers are exactly the same as each other. If its a dealer its probably because they are used parts and they won't take responsibility if they fail.

As for the timing chain, how many miles has the car done?? The TCT is normally the first thing to go as i thought the chain had the same life expectancy as the engine.

130k on the clock. They've recommended doing the whole job while the front's open, so don't have too much of a problem with it in principle. Car has FHSH, but from what I recall there is no timing chain shelf-life for the S2000 within the service schedule?

Definitely query it. Honda tried to tell me my timing chain needed to be replaced. When my engine was taken out in order to put the transplant in, my mechanic told me the timing chain was fine. Like new in fact and certainly NOT in need of rreplacement which is an expensive job!

My personal rule, if the car is no longer under warranty, stay away from main dealers.

Find a local indy technician who is recommended or known by someone on here.
