Default Any good driving roads...

Weather looks promising this morning - therefore I'm thinking of taking the S out for a blast in the country this afternoon.

Problem is I don't know many good driving roads around here - I live around the Wimbledon area in south London - can anyone recommend any suitable roads within reasonable driving distance? Say up to the edges of Kent or Surrey?

I live near Kingston and found the S2000 particularly liked the road to Arundel, the A29 ...... out towards Dorking / Box Hill and keep going !

Thanks everyone - I'll search out those locations on a map and give them a try. Motorways aren't exactly what I had in mind! - but I guess it's good to mix in with the country road driving to get some better speeds going.

take the A24 south through Box Hill until you reach Buck Barn crossroads intersection with the A272 then take a right and go to Winchester and back

or, take the M23/A23 south until you reach its intersection with the A272 then turn right again to Winchester - you'll go through the crossroads mentioned above

best to go early; it's fast A road with a very few d/c overtaking places and punctuated with some nice places like Midhurst

Thanks for that - I'll head down to Box Hill and Winchester now to investigate! Even though the weather looks bad now, it's meant to become sunny for the next few hours so hopefully the forecasts are correct.

Forecast was incorrect! It rained heavily for most of the time so I had to take it easy, especially as I had a "moment" while vtec-ing on the motorway in a straight line in the wet on the way there

All those roads down in the Box Hill area look good - particularly the A272 is just what I'm looking for - wide enough road with lots of curves and most importantly a smooth surface. I must go again in the dry...
