An answer to the burning knob syndrome
Got in the car today and my knob was almost too hot to touch. Cleverly, my mate slipped over my sunglasses pouch and problem sorted!
The pouch is the soft type that Oakleys typically use. I guess it would work similarly in the cold but have not have my S through a winter yet.

Yeah, a 'knob sock' is a must, I had a lovely black leather one that worked a treat in summer & winter.
Always a talking point for the ladies too (right Jenny / Sophie?)

See we all have our common woes..... here is one answer from another Esprit owner I know, it always makes me laugh....with the text to go with it.
The brushed aluminium gear knob looks great but has a major disadvantage; it's very susceptible to the temperature. In summer, leave it direct sunlight and it will burn your hand off and in the winter it feels like a block of ice on a cold morning. So, to keep it warm in winter, my mother-in-law knitted me this rather natty knob cosy !
