Well this morning one of the guys off the 350z board had his house broken into, and car stolen with the keys. Luckily he has a tracker, so might get some good news fairly soon.

Reg is MA04 UBD (GunMetal with GT pack). Area: Wilmslow (Cheshire)

From now on my keys will be in the bedroom at night, next to my baseball bat.

What is the world coming too? Scumbags.

That information should save me some time looking for them

that's bad........best thing is to have an intruder alarm fitted to the house I guess to protect the keys atleast that way you get some 'heads up'

Really sorry to hear that Rich - hope the Tracker does it 's stuff.

This is getting all to prevalent, there's been quite a few of these on the CTR Board, and I know that Scoobs and Evos are being targetted too.

I'm the last person to run away from a ruck with scumbags, but my honest advice is - don't take the keys to bed with you! The reality is ...

They'll probably be mob-handed.

Do you really want these bottom feeders in the bedroom with your missus/ kids?

You'll be getting out of bed half asleep while they'll already be pumped high on adrenaline.

My keys are in the kitchen hanging up in plain view. If they want 'em bad enough to break in, let 'em have 'em!

The car's insured and I'm not sure I'd want it back anyway.

To be honest I'm coming round to the same mindset too.

Cars are replaceable, whereas family isn't.

Now that really is too close to home.
Although there has been plenty of this type of crime in the area. The police are more than aware this is going on, there have been numerous leaflets through the door warning about it and how to help defend against. Mainly remove keys from sight. If some er breaks in and wants the keys he can have em. Being realistic I couldn't stop them fully alert let alone just forceably awoken although I guess the adrenalin would kick in.

From 350z site...
[QUOTE]Just for further info - the keys were in the front door (I know, I know ) and they used a peice of paving slab to smash the glass (double glazed) and get the keys. The intruder alarm failed to go off

I don't think I'd want mine back either, but I guess you can't blame the likes of that farmer fella for taking matters into his own hands when this sort of thing is becoming rife, and nowt seems to be able to be done about it.

Not that I'd advocate that sort of thing......

I would want mine back on the basis it is an 01MY car........

I certainly would not get involved in a ruck with an intruder......too much risk

I'm by no means the toughest cookie on the block but by no means the softest either

The way I see it you risk getting injured or worse.....on the flip side you could end up seriously injuring the intruder...or worse and we all know which side the law protects and in aint gonna be you

One thing I was told by our local Neighbour Watch PC was that if you end up killing someone be prepared to dig two graves
