Another seized caliper thread (yawn)

For me Rich its because if you change both then you know the condition of both calipers and in addition to that you have the potential for abit of brake imbalance if say the old caliper was abit sticker than the new. Even more so when front calipers refurbished can be had for £59.99 each.

In my case brake pads cost more than the caliper so if it seizes i have the potential of scrapping them too.

Its up to the individual to decide based on what usage they are going to put the calipers through and whether they want to risk the old caliper seizing on the road.

I know from my previous Honda's that calipers are a weak point and when i got my 06 S2000 2 years ago and gave it a once over it was obvious they had seen better days. I have had a rear brake caliper seize driving off a ferry on the isle of wight and its not the sort of thing i want to happen again! If you DIY then to me it seems like a small expense for peace of mind.
