Does anyone know what those HAMP filters are like? (Green casing)

I had this on my CTR and they seem ok
I remember looking at the hamp official site and they have not stated the compatibility with the s2k. so I have assumed that they do not recommend it.

again, I have seen posts on this forum where some ppl have been using it without problem. so it's just a risk whether you want to take.

There is an odd harmonic around the front of the block and unless the filter is almost over-tightened, it will shake loose.

Common phenomenon on S2000s.

Several peps have experienced this and cost them engines!
IMHO it is a false economy using none OEM as there is more chance of this happening!

It was the oil filter as you guys thought, I've made sure the garage fitted a proper Honda filter this time and should have the car back soon.

Just glad this happend when the car was barely moving and not while I was blasting down the motor way.

Did you check the oil level before they picked it up.
ie. Do you know if it ran with too little oil.

Keep an eye on the oil usage. it will/should use a little but an engine of that version should be better than some of the older ones.

might be worth getting in writing a description of the fault from them. should the worse ever come about.

I'd checked the oil on Saturday and it was full, there's no sign of oil having been leaked on my street or drive leading up to where I had it parked before It went so I can only hope it wasnt leaking much if any before it failed. I will be checking it on a daily basis for a while though.

Shame about the filter but I suspected as much

I've been banging on about this for a long while, and a few people tried to tell me that non OEM filters are fine on a recent-ish post.

This is yet another non OEM issue.

While it could be fitment, there is too many of these incidents with non OEM filters, and for the cost (aren't these a few quid?!) stick with the OEM one.

PS - if there is a warranty claim then don't touch the filter.

Not that they are likely to squirm out of it, but you could get them to demonstrate the torque on it...
