I swear to God i'm not trying to sway you but I bought my car from Motorpoint.

It was a 2007 model with VSA. Originally imported from Cyprus.

My car is a daily driver so the VSA was important to me - just in case but as stated above it's barely ever kicked in.

There is practically no difference between buying a Euro Import car to buying a UK car - aside from the price. I understand the ball game changes somewhat if you decide to buy a Japanese import.

I've dealt with Honda in Hemel Hempstead throughout the buying of my car and have found it a breeze to register for warranty etc. From my own experience this is what I found when buying an import:-

What you do get with a Euro Import:

60,000 mile 3 year warranty (UK cars get 90,000 mile 3 year warranty - not a problem for me as there is no way i'll go over 60,000 miles in 3 years)
VSA as standard (obviously not an issue from 2008 onwards)
Full dealer support for warranty issues
Exactly the same car but much cheaper!

What you don't get with a Euro Import:

Locking Wheel Nuts (although I understand Bob Gerard Cars are supplied with these - I had to buy my own - a whole

I think VSA will not only help resale, it may result in reduced insurance premiums in future. Just like ABS, it ought to be unnecessary, but it would be reassuring to have especially at first.

Don't worry about it. My VSA does come on from time to time but never in the wet....

If you're buying a new UK car (a year old pre registered one) then you're getting a good deal. you could buy an identical car as a euro import with a later plate. No difference in my opinion even in resale prices - by the time it all shakes out the differences in price are made up for by the year of reg, you've got a good deal.

However if you want the latest spec MY08 you'd still need to spend a few more

I'm very happy with the car.

Its just this VSA issue thats worrying me... some ppl on here make it sound like driving a non vsa car in the rain is like trying to sprint across an ice rink!

Thought scares me a little!

i have VSA on mine 57 car was an extra 300 ish i think, i didn't want it but a car came up with it on so i had it!

i use mine everyday and the new S2000's i find very planted anyway and rarely if ever have i seen mine come on in the dry! unless i want it too

Treat it with respect in the wet and you'll be fine. It really is nothing to worry about.
