Default Annoying squealing noise

After a few posts and a lot of phoning and heckling the stealers, I've finally got the answer! All credit to Avonvale Honda in Coventry! really quite good....

Well done to those who suggested the throttle body, apparantly there was a healthy build up of crud that was making the butterfly stick. On TOp of that, the accelerator assembly was also well gunked up (yes, I told them this and they said it was nothing to worry about it! I know stealers hate the "I have a noise / electrical problem" scenarios but for the resolution to be so simple?! I will be informing HUK directly!), see the attached picture!

So a nice little job for the winter could be to strip the throttle body, clean it, and also the throttle cable assembly!

I merely pull off the boot and lob an areshole of choke cleaner in there (and on the return spring) and wipe it out with a tissue.

It is especially useful on the Civic VTi, otherwise it has a sticky throttle that results in nasty torque reversals (jerkiness) in traffic.

I would also be concerned where the gunk is coming from, the butterfly will get caked in crud, but around the throttle cable assembly ?? Some sort of leak I would think.

I'll bet the stung

Sounds like a good bit of preventative maintenance along with AB's silicon on the steering and drive shaft gaiters!
