Annoying Rattle
Any offers on diagnosing an annoying rattle my car has developed ?
Best described as coming from behind the passenger seat towards the top of the passenger compartment (near to rear screen)
I've checked all the obvious and no trim is loose
The noise is best described as a plastic type rattle (doesn't sound metallic)
It isn't the rear shelf, storage compartment, spare wheel, screen, wind deflector, seat, seat belt or any of the roof mechanism
Any offers would be appreciated in the interests of my sanity

I've a couple of plastic type cabin rattles that are also driving me nuts, and I find it very hard to locate them. Will get my dad to drive my car at some point so I can try n pin point some. But the other thing I'm trying...
I thought the other day, 'perhaps there's an app for that'. I've downloaded a simple iphone app with a slider, which makes the phone produce whatever frequency of sound you select. I then plug this into my iphone connector on the stereo, crank the sound up a bit, and try different frequencies to try and make bits of the cabin vibrate/buzz.
I gave it a very quick try the other day, and I've only been able to ascertain that it's somthing behind the door cards in the handle area. Will look into it further in the near future...

I have the same one. However, if you lift the passenger seatbelt away from the seat, it stops.
Try that?! (Sounds weird, I know, but it stopped my rattle!)

The seat belt buckle on the hood frame, or door card is a really annoying noise

I had one and managed to figure out it was because the passenger seat was all the way back and knocking against the plastic pannel behind it. Moved the seat slightly forward and its gone! Now Rattle free!

The solution to that is to get a 'seatbelt buckle retainer'. I nabbed one off a MK2 MX5 and cut a hole for it in the side panel. I can know slot the buckle into the retainer...es voila! No more rattle!
As far as the other rattles are concerned, I have been reliably informed that a cable goes through the passenger roll bar...this may cause a problem
