Unhappy Annoying noise

It's been a while since I have been having an annoying noise coming from behind the driver's seat. It started a few months ago, as an occasional sound of two metals hitting each other when I was going through bumpy roads. I then thought it was the soft top joints that needed some grease or something but I never payed much attention. Gradually, the sound was becoming more and more frequent and even more annoying, until yesterday, I could hear it at all times, even when the car was idling, if the noise level wasn't too high

In the meantime I was thinking that it may have been something else like a spring or some screw that was holding the soft top in place.

I came home and before anything else, I did a search on the UK forum, thinking I may have discovered something new. No mention in the FAQ and nothing in the first page of search results. I moved to the second search page and found this.. The original post wasn't of my interest, but then I saw the third post by nickrg3. .

I went outside, tightened the nut and it's all gone now.

Thanks Nick

Well if you insist on transporting the mother-in-law behind the seat what do you expect?

Yes and believe me, it's the most annoying noise you can hear.
