Alpine radio iphone connection

oh, didnt see your other post Lovegroova.
Thats the one i was looking at, although not sure if its handy to have the option to play cd's.
Im not sure what interface unit i have in my car, its a little black box and a whole pile of wires. It plugs into the 3.5mm jack.
Would I have to do any programming to get the dash controls to work ?

I'm pretty sure (though don't quote me) that if you have a DCI that works with one Alpine HU, it'll work with all the others. My old Alpine interface won't work the mute button with my newer head unit but everything else is ok.
They all have 3.5mm jack for dash controls.
Here's the KCE-865B

You can get hold of a second hand Ida-x100 on eBay and plug the iPhone straight in and control all iPod functions from the head unit.
I have one and also have the kce-400bt Bluetooth unit and can make calls from the head unit too.
Although I'm gonna be upgrading the HU soon to the Ida-x305s soon.
