It comes with cables, they are fairly long.
I plan to put mine under the passenger seat, with cable to storage box from there. Plenty of cable length to do that.
I don't think the HU->adaptor cable is long enough to reach the storage box on it's own. The one from adaptor->iPod is longer.

Nope, seems fine to me.
Only prob I have with it is that the screen on the HU is too small to display much of the text, which is a pain when searching by album name. My fault for being pikey and buying a cheaper HU I guess!

the system works great the only down side that i have is if you have a lot of music and you do a search via artist it takes an age to scroll through a list of 300 odd names, the ipod knows how fast your scrolling and adjusts for it but my headunit doesn't. So what normally takes 10 seconds on the ipod can take about 5 mins on the head unit.
So what i need to do is get rid of some rubbish and set up some more playlists to find the stuff I want to listen to quicker.

Ok, finally got around to removing the old CD changer and properly fitting the iPod adapter today.
Cable lengths that somebody was asking about are:
HU -> KCA-420i = 190cm
KCA-420i -> iPod = 200cm
In the end I did fit it under the passenger seat where it *just* fits, but I think it restricts seat travel, so if you ever wanted to put the seat all the way forward this wouldn't be a very good place to leave it!
