Default Alpine IDA

Do you need any wiring adapters to fit an Alpine IDA head unit and still have the dash controls work with it?.............

Yes you need some extra kit.

Modifry works as does Alpine's own kit and there is another one that I cannot recall.

Try searching for Modifry or modifry alternative.

The Modifry one seems worth it if only for the extra controls with button combos.

Well, I've just fitted an IDA-x305 Alpine and I went for the Modifry PnP (Wired) kit. It's a bit expensive but worth the extra functionality on the dash and the simple Plug'n'Play wire harness was a dream. I'm no DIY god!

Here some links to the kit I bought:
http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/wired_dci.htm
http://www.modifry.com/products/dci/pnp.htm

*Note: You'll need both bits of kit from the links if you want 100% easy installation with no fuss.

I used the following shipping for the kit:
http://www.modifry.com/products/intl_ship_prices.htm

DCI & Harness or ECT or Yellow Jacket $6 'First Class Mail (Air Mail) delivery in 7-28 days, no tracking number, optional insurance is extra' + $3.20 Insurance 'insured up to $200'.
The package took 2 weeks in total to be delivered (1 week once I received confirmation it was dispatched).

Hope that helps.

Still, haven't got round to sorting out my problem it with (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=719173)... Fingers crossed I can do it this weekend.

I've had two Modifry's
and the Alpine adapter

The other benefit of the modifry is it's size making it very easy to tuck out the way and maintain cool air to the HU.

Oh, and another thing; you'll need an aerial connector to attach it to the unit. For the life of me I cannot remember the type of connector although it was mentioned on this forum.
