No clock on mine.
The ipod connection is okay, not brilliant, my main gripes being:
1) Lots of albums means it takes ages to search through, the wheel is much faster. (I have got over 200 albums on my Ipod)
2) Album names / Playlists. A lot of my cd names are really long e.g. Gatecrasher Classics CD 1... to CD3. I have got about 11 GC albums and they all just say Gatecrasher in the description. I now have the tedious task of changing loads of album names in ITunes so I can find the album I am looking for.
Thats all really, it is a fantastic stereo, the sound quality combined with my speakers, sub, and amp is on par or better than many BOSE systems IMO. I can have VERY loud and there is no distortion at all.
