Default alpine 9833 and 9833R?

I have been told the DCI adaptor will not work with the Alpine 9833 but will with the 9833R? Is this true

Many thanks

If by the DCI you mean the Alpine KCE865B dash interface. Yes you are right.
I got caught like this with a 9813 and 9813R. The none R version is US with no socket for the jack from the KCE. Nor does it have RDS

The yanks use the Lucid or Crutchfield DCI's. Neither of which will ship to the UK. You could do a search on the Electronics forum if you are brave enough to build your own There are a few links to DIY interfaces!

Heres the problem Alpine do not offer a dash interface to the US spec 9833 As previously posted you can try Lucid & Crutchfield via your mate. Or for top ness go this route

will the interface DEFINITELY work then? I need to be sure just so I know whether to A) sell the headunit on and go down the UK spec route or B) buy the lucid/crutchfield adaptor and be done with it.... I'd prefer option b .. sounds like less hassle. Is the lucid option compatible with all US spec alpine headunits?

Thanks again

Can't say as I sold my US spec and bought a UK one! Already had the Alpine KCE interface

Best bet is to do a search on dash interface in the Electrinics Forum in the main site.

A few to go at

Right so I got my CDA-9833 and ordered modifry's interface for alpine stereo's, anything else anyone can see me needing? Should I be prepared to do some soldering or is it just scotch or bullet connectors?

Many thanks
