alpine 9812 install question?? here or electronics?
OK, not sure if this should be in here or no...
got my Alpine 9812RR yesterday along with the KCE-865B adapter thingy.....ok Ive looked and found a "how to" install the head unit, but what am I supposed to do with the adaptor is seems to havehundreds of bloody connections and a black 2x2" box which seems to need screwing down somewhere.
anyone any idea how this all fits together? I don't want to pull my carapart and get stuck!!
or shoudl I just pay someone to fix it for me (and get the mobile car kit installed at the same time (Parrot CK3000 bluetooth).
hopefully someone can help me.
BTW new MY04 is still great and current breaking in around 300 miles ....300 to go.
cheers

It's quite easy the KCE adaptor plugs into the Honda loom and the other end of it plugs into the Alpine head unit loom.
If you read the back of the (English section) of the Alpine manual there is a wiring diagram that shows all of the wires. These wires are colour matched on the KCE adaptor.
There is a black wire that has to be earthed and a yellow, fused, wire that can be extended by about a foot and plugged in to the permanent live on the fuse box (which is under your right knee).
It is quite simple to install yourself.
The black box I just push behind the unit. It is a tight fit with all the wires behind the unit but it will fit .... San managed it last weekend and he also had the additional Lucid rear speaker loom.
