Nice one, I think I shall do the power upgrade and earth point. My earth is just linked to the harness at the moment, now I know of a bolt to use I shall change this.

Surely if replacing the speaker cable you would have to get new pins for the block connector or cut and solder on the new wire in which case would it actually make a difference because how ever good the new speaker cable is it still has to go through the standard honda speaker wire to get into the block/headunit? Unless Im missing something...

By the way has anyone managed to get the IPersonalise custom EQ thing sorted out on their 9833R? I registered with the alpine website, made my EQ, burnt it onto a CD then put it on my car like it said and all i got was "CD error", wither Ive got shitty CDR's or ive done something wrong.

whilst a complete run of decent guage speaker wire would be ideal (an advantage of running the RCS pre-outs to an amp and then running decent quality speaker cable straight from the amp to the front speakers (via cross overs)), the key thing to bear in mind that the shorter the length of cable run, the less important the thickness of cable. Therefore a few centremetres of thin cable out of the HU , into the KCE and then properly connected to a decent bit of cable should make a decent sound improvement. To be honest, with 2 channel amps being so cheap (
