Yes, the Factory 17" wheels are 8.5 wide, tbut the offset is +63!

The Rota's you have mentioned are the same width and offset as I have on mine. They will fit, but I wouldn't reccommend putting anything over a 245 on without having tyre flex issues!

Nick, I personally think my car looks worse with the lower offset!

I struggle to see any wheel above, that look anywhere near as nice as the OEM 17s,Yes they need paint but they hide the crapy Disks...Honda spend loads on The way they look.
Just my 1.1p worth!

Scrap yards have tons of them!!

nope, money still in bank, car still parked in garage on slicks

is there any scope in the slipstreams for machining the offset?

...and it can cause issues with the passive 4WS and bearing wear.

Point is, there's really no reason for the alloy wheel manufacturers NOT to offer correct offsets: Civic and 'Teg wheels (the proper Rota Replica ones) come with the offset at 40, not 45, which is very close and I can only assume it is for vanity reasons, since the Spoon originals have the correct offset of 45!

Similarly, MOST 17" Hondas use a 55 offset; the Mugen GPs listed for them seem to be +48, which is simply too far adrift. Especially on a 4WS Prelude.

Even the Mugen MF10s for the S2000 came with an offset only 2mm off the Honda ones, so the GPs that replced them are 'worse'. Probably less of a problem on a smooth track, but a PIA on a bumpy British B road!

1. Rota JMAGS can be specified nearly right.

2. S/H 17" can be even cheaper & exactly right.

3. Volks CE28N are fairly close.

4. Mugen GPs are closer, but a tad indulgent.

5. Mugen MF10s are bestest, but S/H only & like rocking horse shit.
