Default Alarm problem - Honda UK standard

Arrrgghhhh!

I've had my S2000 for 18 months with no problems - apart from recalls (sorry product updates), oh and the roof clips, and the squeaks from the seals - but apart from that it's been fine.

This morning I was driving in to work (using the spare keys - my wife has hidden the ones I normally use ) when the alarm went off, while driving I stopped the alarm using the off button on the remote and drove on - it happened again.

In all it must have triggered about 15 times in 10 miles. It always dis-armed on the button, the immobiliser never kicked in.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Help!!!!! I've got a 50 mile drive to do this afternoon and I don't want to do it with the alarm going off every 2 minutes

Happened to me once - very off-putting. - amused the others on the road.
Don't know what is causing your's to excite itself but the reason for mine was something in the boot interfering with the sensor...so doors, bonnet, boot, soft top???

Ta Mike!

Was something causing the alarm to arm as you were driving? I would have thought that was the only thing that would set the alarm off

Hi Colin

I had the exact same thing happen to me, you described the problem to a 'T'. I was going to drop it in at the dealers for them to have a look, but the good news is that it never reoccurred. The car will be 6 months old at the end of August, so it seems to have repaired it self (I hope)

I have managed to fully diagnose and solve this problem

First clue was that 'my wife' ( ) had hidden my car keys in my laptop bag's front pocket. A hugely irresponsible thing for her to have done I think you'll agree

Clue 2: I always place the laptop bag face down in the 'well' in the boot. It fits very snugly and so won't slide around if I am forced to

Clue 3:The alarm 'arm' button is the raised one on the fob.

Put them all together and every time I went over a slight bump yesterday the car alarm armed itself - the ignition was on, so the alarm triggered

[tongueincheek]I am soooo glad that none of this is my fault, and that I managed to solve the problem myself[/tongueincheek]

Thanks for the input everyone - and keep track of the second remote
