Default Alarm install question

GAP Security fitted a Clifford 650 to my S2 a few weeks ago. I have had a few problems since with the alarm and ended up using the key to lock/unlock the door only to discover the Honda OEM Cat2 alarm was still active! I unlocked the door with the key and the OEM alarm went off! Should the OEM alarm be removed as I now have a Clifford 650?

Also, has anybody else had problems with the Clifford 650 prox sensors?

GAP fitted the same system to my MINI Cooper S, they also left the OEM alarm in place. I didn't know this was the case until it went off, I was confused at first. Why don't they remove the standard alarm??

Spoke to GAP today about the oem alarm and they said they don't normally remove it unless specifically asked for by the customer. Something to do with the transponder built into the key and standard immobiliser. Sounds like a valid reason...?

Has anyone else noticed if the standard honda oem alarm is armed when you lock the door with the key and not the oem fob? On my 2004 when I lock using the key the red led starts flashing on my dash.

thers 2 types of security devices fitted to your car

1*wher you have the fob which has the central locking

2*the actual chip in the key

you can easily bye pass the oem alarm the brain is located under the drivers seat as for the chip key you cant and thers no way to either but you will not need to ouch the chip key its just a transponder for the ecu.

thers 2 immboliser cuts on the oem alarm fuel/starter....if you need more help pm me....
