I think this kind of rubber degradation is caused by the mechanics with oily engine fingers ?! I have the same problem with mine.

That and women/prettyboys The oils in most skin creams attack the rubber, vasilene destroys it quickly too....

Eh up, just found my old one. Case isn't very nice but the buttons look ok.

Yep, bought a blank case and a brand new remote from them. They also threw in an instruction manual and how to program the remote for free.

As already stated above the lady on the phones is very knowledgeable and keen to help.
