Air pump delete kit

It does remove the vaccuum pipe yes, the one that goes from the egr to that black box to that valve and then back to the inlet mani again
All the airpump does is pump exhaust gas back into the inlet to warm up the cat like you said.

Might be worth you asking on the US forum as we don't have the F22C here...I do remember reading something about the resistance being different on the European cars compared to the American cars but I have no idea if it also differs between the engines.

Just wanted to fire this one back up to the top, as I'm thinking about this modification.
Does removing the air pump have any effects on the emission figures in anyway? Basically I'd like to know with regards to the yearly MoT.
So apart from removing some weight, are there any other advantages of doing this mod?

The cat will need to run for a minute or two longer from cold to get up to temp so as long as you give it to the MOT centre warmed up you'll be fine (tbh they wait for the coolant temp to hit a decent temp before they test anyway)
The main advantage is the S2000 doesn't sound like a vacuum cleaner at start up and you get to loose some pipes from the bay.
I did mine and it's been fine (although I did plug the resistor into the wrong socket to start with - the pre-relay feed rather than the post-relay feed )

Cheers Ben.
My understanding is that in Japan they do a cold start emissions test and one after the engine is up to temperature. So car manufacturers heat up the CAT to help pass the cold start emissions test. Like you said they wait for the car to be up to temperature before testing emissions here in the UK, so it should be fine. Just thought I'd check.
I do like the idea of losing some pipe work in the engine bay and that sucking sound is rather annoying lets be honest
I might order a kit and just try installing the resistor to see if I notice any difference to begin with.
