Has anyone removed or frigged the air solenoid valve/vacuum valve its just two pin connecter.

Wondering if I can bridge connection or something? Of course on stock ecu using the resistor trick.

Does the air solenoid valve do much about part from engage/disengage on cold start up?

Cheers

I have just successfully removed my airpump and EGR. It only gains 3.5kg in total but it gets rid of quite a bit of plumbing under the bonnet which is always nice.

Me and a mate in NL have put together an airpump delete kit for the EDM/JDM cars which includes the airpump resistor, blank plate for the EGR and replacement valve cover breather pipe and tb coolant pipe so you can get rid of that ugly metal bracket as well.

All this comes out:

And this goes back in:

I'm planning to set up a topic in the for sale sector after I talk to an admin about it, so that's still to come.

If interested please PM me for more information

Cool, mattie made a blanking plate a plate with resistor on for us.

You can bin it all on standalone ecus.

If you can some how fake the air control solenoid valve I'd be interested, as you have to retain that at the moment.

with this airpump resistor thingy you can bin it all on the oem ecu too

do you know what the little vaccuum sensor thing that bolts to the intake tube does? I still have that there with no vaccuum lines attached

That's the air control solenoid valve I mentioned, so you can't remove 'everything' on the oem ecu with your kit.

Did you add that afterwards? I'm sure it didn't say that when I replied!

That's the only thing that's left now, I'm trying to work out whether that one is replaceable with a resistor as well

Please can someone explain to me what the purpose of the air pump is? I understand its to push air into the cat to warm it up ASAP after the car starts.

Is that correct?
