air box lid off- strange noise at idle
Took my airbox lid off for the first time last night. What a spectacular noise!
my route from work leicester to my new house in market harborough takes me through some fanstastic roads with plenty of room to play and little other traffic. i think i used twice as much fuel last night as i just wanted to listen to the roar from the filter when i hit
but i have noticed it makes a funny whistling noise at idle. Is this normal or is it just my car?

thats what i thought, but is expected more of a sucking air noise rather than a whistle which sounds quite strange from outside the car. Is there any way of specifially getting rid of the whistle?

Not to the best of my knowledge, no. Other than replacing the airbox lid.
I suppose one way around it if you want the extra noise is to swap the airbox for an aftermarket intake, like the PRM.

I've had my airbox lid off for a while too and get the same noise, I first thought it was the radiator fan being on that's what it sounds like, but I'll go along with what people are saying that it's the air being sucked through the filter
