Is it possible that the previous owner disconnected the mpassenger airbag so they could have a sprog seat in?
I know this would leave a fault light showing.

You'd have to disconnect something to 'turn it off', so check the connections to ensure it's 'turned on'
Sounds like you need a code reader...might be worthwhile buying one to save yourself alot of bother and narrow down the fault accurately rather than us speculating about what it could be. Most of them can reset codes for you too

Most code readers wont will read/reset ABS/Airbag lights etc, the geniscan £30 ones wont, its a different system
To interogate ABS faults you need a DTC reader like this...

Geniscan make one buts its much more expensive than £30 your looking at around £170 for one from any manufactuer. Of course it will need to work with the Honda, VW/Skoda etc are VAGCOM so wont work on a honda.
Also I could not for the life of me manage to read my ABS codes with a 'snapon' reader, i had to goto a dealer and pay £45 cash to read the code.
If you've done the bushes its possible you have damaged an ABS sensor/cable i did when i did all the bushes myself, and other have done the same in the past too.
Seems like your on a budget Peter so maybe cheaper going to the dealer pretending your a garage then turning up paying by cash always cheaper that way

Yes im on a budget, although its more than just for money reasons, I just wanted to see if I could get this car all done for a set price, why spend more than you have too!
Interesting about the reader, Ill try a normal garage that already have one of those readers see if they can pull the code if not ill go to honda and maybe say you can service the car if you pull the code for free!
On my golf you can just turn the passenger airbag off for if you wanted to put a child seat in, doesnt the honda have this then?

There's about 20 pages in the user manual dedicated to carrying children in the car, most of which says it's not recommended (hence Dan's comment above). Have a read of that, if you've got the manual of course.
